Limburg VOTE! 2020-2021: The experience bed
A resident of the residential care center can relax in the experience bed. The intention is always to positively influence the state of mind of people with dementia. In the 2019-2020 school year, the focus was on image, light and sound. During this school year 2020-2021 this was expanded to smell.
In addition to the further realization of the parts and the necessary testing of the design during the first trimester, an investigation was also carried out into influencing parameters such as smells, projection of images and music, in order to improve the patient's experience. A program was written, work was done on the graphical interface and improvements were made to the experience bed. The bed can now also be adjusted in terms of speed so that each resident can find his own peace and pace.
